The function
At Rijnboutt, landscape architecture is an indispensable link between urban planning and architecture. As a landscape architect at Rijnboutt, you are always working on multidisciplinary transformation assignments at different scales, from area development to building design. You will contribute to vision development, imaginative spatial research and the (technical) design of public space in urban development plans and around building designs.
Our projects are mostly transformations in (inner) urban areas, for example in Amsterdam, Breda, The Hague and Utrecht. The assignments touch on current issues such as repurposing, densification, climate-proof and nature-inclusive construction and changing mobility.
Your profile:
You are an integral designer with a conceptual approach, and have a strong imagination. You have an affinity with architecture and urban planning and move comfortably between the different disciplines. You create attractive plan drawings, visualizations and presentations. You also have the necessary knowledge of materials, a feel for the process and you are aware of current events in the field.
What we ask of you:
- A completed (preferably academic) degree in Landscape Architecture (LU/TU/AvB or equivalent);
- at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably at a leading agency and/or large municipality;
- mastering (or willing to learn) Vectorworks 2D and 3D, Adobe, Office suite;
- conceptual thinking and design skills;
- good social, communication and presentation skills, as well as a good oral and written command of the Dutch language.

You will work in a diverse team of approximately fourty colleagues in a beautiful building in the Amsterdam Houthavens, with a view over the IJ. There you have a flexible workplace and you can also use meeting places. On three days a week you can enjoy a cheerful and freshly prepared lunch with your colleagues. And once a week you can participate in the bootcamp.
We start the week together with a monday morning office meeting. We share the latest insights, working methods, technologies and artisanal delights with each other during the Rijnboutt Academy. Inspiring, motivating and respecting each other is our top priority. We also find your development, in your position and on a personal level, very important. With a personal training budget you can continuously develop your knowledge and skills and grow within the agency.
Our terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the architects' collective labour agreement and you will receive travel allowance. Working from home one day a week is possible. In the first instance, we offer you a fixed-term contract, which can be converted into a permanent appointment in the event of mutual well-being if you are completely at home with us.
