Medior Stedenbouwkundige (32-40u p/wk, Amsterdam)

Are you a passionate design talent who can think and develop both conceptually and technically? A real storyteller who can link the right image to every story and who can also articulate design ideas well? Do you like to work in an investigative and creative way and do you see solving complex puzzles of the city as an attractive challenge? If so, we would like to welcome you to our team as our new Junior Urban Designer!

Full-time / Part-time · Amsterdam

The team

You will be part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team. You will work intensively with talented urban planners, landscape architects, architects and technical designers on our common goal: to make the city better than it was.

Your activities:

Many of our projects are transformations in (inner) urban areas, for example in Amsterdam, Breda, The Hague and Utrecht. As a junior urban planner, you will efficiently link between changing project teams and work on complex urban design assignments. You contribute to the vision and design of urban plans, often including the design of the (public) outdoor space. You participate in the design process by independently carrying out spatial and programmatic research, analyses and making design proposals. You also know how to portray this clearly and attractively. You prepare consultations and make convincing presentations. You develop plans at various scales, with the necessary knowledge of dimensions and building typologies.

What we ask of you:

  • A completed academic degree in Urban Planning (TU/AvB) or equivalent;
  • 0 to 3 years of internship or work experience, for example at a leading agency and / or large municipality;
  • Dexterity with CAD drawing software and the Adobe package. Experience with Vectorworks is appreciated;
  • Affinity with data-driven design and knowledge of GIS and/or BIM is an advantage;
  • Good oral and written command of the Dutch language;
  • An accurate and proactive team player with a willingness to learn and grow.

What we offer you:

You will work in a diverse team of approximately 45 colleagues in a beautiful building in the Amsterdam Houthavens, with a view over the IJ. There you have a flexible workplace and you can also use meeting places. On 3 days a week you can enjoy a cheerful and freshly prepared lunch with your colleagues. And once a week you can participate in the bootcamp.

We start the week together with a monday morning office meeting. We share the latest insights, working methods, technologies and artisanal delights with each other during the Rijnboutt Academy. Inspiring, motivating and respecting each other is our top priority. We also find your development, in your position and on a personal level, very important. With a personal training budget you can continuously develop your knowledge and skills and grow within the agency.

Our terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the architects' collective labour agreement and you will receive travel allowance. Working from home one day a week is possible. In the first instance, we offer you a fixed-term contract, which can be converted into a permanent appointment in the event of mutual well-being if you are completely at home with us.

Interested?

We would like to receive a CV, your motivation and a portfolio. Do you have any questions? Then call Rowan Rijsdijk on 020 530 48 10. Of course you can also visit www.rijnboutt.nl for more information about the agency and our projects.
